Ease of Operation
With only six, carefully programmed operating keys, the Series 1000 spectrophotometers are exceptionally easy to use. Up-down keys, with automatic slew rate acceleration, make wavelength selection, to 0.1nm, convenient and rapid. Absorbance, Transmittance or Concentration may be measured; the latter using standards or by entering a factor.
Very precise wavelength selection, with readout to 0.1nm, provide the high degree of reproducibility needed for accuracy, particularly when measuring on a sloping background.
Design advantages of the series 1000 instruments include self test and calibration at switch on, automatic lamp and filter selection coupled to wavelength and high overall stability eliminating frequent resetting of the Absorbance zero when making extended measurements.
Deuterium Lamp Save
UV-visible instruments allow the Deuterium lamp to be switched off when working in the visible region, to extend lamp life. Switch on is automatic if a UV wavelength is selected. Deuterium Lamps are guaranteed for one year.

Aurius and Super Aurius Spectrophotometers
With an optical bandwidth of 4nm and superb stability, accuracy and precision these very easy to use instruments are ideal general purpose spectrophotometers. Excellent for routine and quality control laboratories, they offer a wide range of quantitative techniques with wavelength scanning as an option. Both UV Visible and Visible versions are available with full validation procedures.
Super Aurius Series
The Super Aurius instruments are unique for their very high performance scanning, with derivatives, overlay, extended analytical power and multi-cell Kinetics. They cover the full 190-1100nm wavelength range with a narrow 1.8nm optical bandwidth. With straylight of 0.01%, wavelength precision of 0.1nm and baseline stability of better than ±0.001A/hr, the most demanding analytical work may be undertaken.

Six Screen Width Viewing
All scans, curves and data produced by the spectrophotometers may be scrolled across the screen providing a very wide 6 screen widths - 550mm - of viewing of extended displays.
The low straylight of the instruments, less than 0.01%, allows a measurement of 3 Absorbance units to be made with an error close to 1%.
This performance should be compared with errors of 26%, 10% and 6% which result from straylight of 0.5%, 0.1% and 0.05% respectively for the same measurement.

Powerful Integral Control
Rapid operation with ease of use is provided by the powerful software built into the computing system of the Aquarius instruments. The standard software is remarkably comprehensive but may be expanded, at any time, by E-SEF to release additional software modules when required.
Double Beam Optical System
The fully symmetrical double beam system of the Aquarius instruments provides for the highest accuracy of measurement coupled with a very high level of stability with time.
Both sample and reference beams are provided with the same sampling space and facilities, thus catering for the widest possible range of experimental requirements and not limited to just a single cell in the reference beam.
Scans Viewed By Scrolling
By scrolling information across the display screen, the effective width of the screen is increased to a massive 550mm.
Long scans, plots and other data may be viewed in much more detail, than with other instruments as viewing is not limited to one screen width of information.

Variable Optical Bandwidth
The top of the range CE 9500, offers four optical resolutions, 0.5, 1, 2 and 4nm. For samples with narrow absorption bands such as vapours and gases, the narrow 0.5nm bandwidth is extremely valuable. When high energy is helpful, for instance in measuring difficult turbid samples or fluorescence measurements, the 4nm bandwidth provides increased sensitivity and accuracy of measurement.
Powerful Integral Control
The rapid operating system of the Super Aquarius instruments includes a mass of powerful software including complete instrument programming, band area correction and computation, spectral differencing and stripping etc. The software may be expanded by E-SEF - Encoded Software Enhancement Facility. Codes are available by telephone, fax or E-mail with no delay. A large built in memory stores 100 scans, plots, curves and methods all password protected.
