Q-ADEPT HPLC SYSTEM Q-2, Binary - Low Pressure Gradient
This is a low pressure binary gradient forming system. It uses the CE 4102 dual piston pump with flow rates from 0.001 to 10mL/min and a maximum operating pressure of 40MPa.
The pump has the facility for mixing two solvents for binary gradients and of course may be used in the isocratic mode.
The Adept CE 4200 dual wavelength detector is used with an 8無 x 10mm flowcell. The Rheodyne valve fitted with a 20無 loop is mounted with the column on the mounting panel CE 4050.
The PowerStream software controller is mounted at the centre of the stack. Full control and data processing are provided for use with Windows.
A Solvent Reservoir and Pipe Organiser and installation kit are also supplied.
Q-ADEPT HPLC SYSTEM Q-4, Quaternary - Low Pressure Gradient
This extremely popular quaternary low pressure gradient system is shown here with a Cecil column heater/chiller, which should be ordered extra if required. The CE 4104 dual piston pump has flow rates from 0.001 to 10無/min and a maximum operating pressure of 40MPa. The pump has all the facilities for gradient formation, with low pressure mixing of up to 4 solvents.
Four, proprietary, high performance, high reliability, proportioning valves are used to control up to four solvents and a high performance, low volume, dynamic mixer is used for ultimate gradient quality.
The Adept CE 4200 dual wavelength detector is used with an 8無 x 10mm flowcell. The Rheodyne valve with 20無 loop is mounted by a small panel to the detector. When an oven is not used the column may be mounted together with the valve on mounting panel CE 4050.
The CE 4900 PowerStream system controller is placed at the centre of the very compact stack. Full control and data processing ar provided for use in Windows. The system is supplied complete with solvent and pipe organiser, CE 4134, 8無 x 10mm flowcell and installation kit 4150 14 00.
Q-ADEPT HPLC SYSTEM Q-4S, Method Development
This is the ideal system for sophisticated method development. The system offers power and flexibility and yet is compact and convenient to use.
The CE 4104 Quaternary pump is provided for low pressure mixing of up to 4 solvents. A dynamic mixer, built into the pump, provides excellent solvent mixing for reproducible gradients.
The Adept CE 4300 WaveQuest DAD fast scanning detector is supplied with an 8無 x 10mm flowcell and fitted with a mounting panel for the Rheodyne injection valve.
Purity, compound identification, match factors using library search and virtually drift free monitoring may be carried out using this excellent system on the same scan as peaks are quantified cutting experimental time in half.

The system is completed by the CE 4600 heated and cooled oven, which accommodates up to three columns

This automatic version of system Q-4 is shown.
The system is the same as system Q-4, but the injection valve is supplied as part of the AutoQuest autosampler to which it is fitted. Installation kit 4150 14 01 is supplied.

Using the pulse-free microprocessor controlled pumps, achieve precise control and repeatability of mobile phase mixtures, to 0.1% levels. Coupled with rapid responses to changes in concentration and lower incidences of bubbling of the mixed mobile phase, the achieved gradients are the best.

Each system is fully PC controlled, using Merit software, to achieve and save high quality chromatograms. Automatic integration is provided, without the need for further baseline adjustment. Qualitative work is remarkably easy. The fast checking of multi-component samples is easy.
System choices include a CE 4403 UV/Visible detector, a DAD WaveQuest detector, an isocratic CE 4401 pump, a CE 4402 binary pump and a column heater/chiller. Biocompatible options are available.
Set-up of the system hardware is fast, the pump and detector modules each plug into the USB ports of a PC or laptop. The Merit software only takes a few seconds to load and just a few minutes to master. Save HPLC methods and store chromatograms within Merit software or elsewhere on the PC , network or portable drive etc.
In the case of the Merit PC software, chromatograms may be copied and pasted into other software programmes, such as Word or PowerPoint.
All the numerical data points captured within each chromatogram is saved. In two key strokes, data may be manually copied and pasted into Excel or other software spreadsheets.
GLP data such as time, date, serial number of the detector etc. are automatically displayed. Again, data may be copied and pasted into Word, PowerPoint or other software packages.
In addition, the Merit software contains a spacious library. Once a chromatogram is created, it may be saved into the library. In two clicks of the mouse, subsequent chromatograms, may then be compared with the saved chromatograms.
When any two chromatograms are automatically compared with each other, a numerical match index is automatically created. Within a few seconds, a league table of comparable chromatograms is created. This is such a useful facility when performing initial method development and routine elutions.
